I said I would update my complaints that were stated in, "they need some integratey"
SO here it goes... After having the three managers standing in my bedroom, trying to convince them that it would be impossible to live in a room that had large quantities of water pooring in for about an hour, then seven industrial sized, loud fans where you are supposed to sleep, and having to explain my lease to the "top" manager, we all decided to go with what the lease said and give us eight days off of our rent. That is how long we had to sleep on our couch. So, we weren't happy with that but that is all they were legally obligated to do, so we accepted it. But shortly after that, we recieved a call saying that they would only give us $100 dollars off because the fans were off when the carpet people came to pick up the fans. Well, the fuse had blown again, and again and again. They wanted to hold us resposible for that. So, I wanted to know who I could contact above the regional manager. Well, after playing games with me for a while and refusing to give me this guys contact information, they said send a letter to the regional manager and that she would get it to him. (I wouldn't want my boss to know my tenate had to explain the lease to me eithr) So, I sent the letter and a few weeks later, we get a message saying that the new person in charge of handling disputes said we should get the full amount off of our rent and that is the end of that story. The only hope for this place at all is if this new person keeps going like that.
Oh, and for those of you who think this place is o.k. for the price, most places pay for your heat. We have to pay close to $400.00 a month to heat our apartment. Oh, and the office of Gov. Sproul will send us letters saying we are late with our heating bill, but when we call the company, they tell us we still have about a week to pay it. Interesting, huh'
One last remark, they know about this website and that they only have a 17% recomendation rate and yet, they still think that we are the ones with the problem. LOL

I agree. Whenever there is a problem they tell you it is somehow your fault. Even if you just moved in a few hours ago. And its impossible to go over the manager's head. She has absolute power and she's a creep. Now that I know they know about this web site I am sure they will get me for posting all the bad things I've been through since I moved in. I'll post it when they do GET me so that others can beware. I'll also take all of the posts from all of the residents when I go to court with the manager next month.

I used to live in the complex YEARS ago....I left in 1995 of May (after leaving my husband-long story)....the complex had its problems, but from the comments, it sounds like it went downhill even more. We lived on the first floor of Snyder building, and we were flooded out on more that one occasion, once on Christmas Eve....the sump pump was finally replaced. We had mold so bad in the rugs there was mushrooms in the corners of the floor....pretty funny in a way-but sad. Blah. They finally fixed that problem. They had to replace our carpet. There were fires there more than once due to the crappy wiring....one of the buildings almost burnt down-I can't remember the name of the building....but I still have pics of the fire somewhere. It was across the courtyard from Snyder... My (then) husband complained to them about the wiring in the bedroom (there was a short that had to be repaired) and they drug thier feet until he called the fire inspector. That got the managment's attention. Generally, the complex was pretty decent....sounds like it's gotten worse. The people who worked there were really pretty nice...but I'm talking years ago-they probably have changed managers 5 times over since then. I am in KY now, and looking for an apt. in Philly...I'm moving back to PA in a month or so...that's how I ran into this site. |
