Overall Good

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003
I lived in a downstairs 1BR end unit apartment for a year and experienced nothing but the best customer service from both the office and grounds staff. As stated by previous reviewers, the complex had recently undergone massive renovation. Since they were done renovating by the time I moved in, many of the problems with rude workers and office staff were no longer issues. The grounds are beautiful, parking is ample, and the apartments are well designed. The rent is comparable to other apartments in the area.
The layout is such that there are four units per building -- two apartments (one upstairs and one downstairs) stacked on the left and two apartments stacked to the right with an enclosed main entry, staircase, and mailboxes between them.
My only complaint living in this complex was the noise level. Fortunately, my upstairs neighbor spent most of her time away from the apartment. However, when she was around, sound traveled all too well through hardwood floors (especially if your upstairs neighbor doesn?t have much carpeting and walks around the apartment with their clunky shoes). Voices carried as well, but the sound isn?t so clear that you can actually understand what is being said or anything like that. Also, my neighbor across the hall (also a downstairs unit) complained that she could often hear the noise from the laundry facility, which was right below her apartment. I couldn?t hear it on my side, though, since the storage area was under my apartment. However, most complexes don?t have laundry or storage under the first floor so that shouldn?t be a problem for a majority of tenants. What I did have was all of the air conditioning units for my building outside of my bedroom window so needless to say I didn?t keep my windows open at night during the summer. The heating/cooling unit inside also tends to be on the louder side. I don?t know how about the noise level through walls since I lived in an end unit. All I do know is that my upstairs neighbors didn?t seem to have any problems with noise. I guess the most important thing is to find out a little bit about the kind of neighbors around your potential apartment unit. Mine consisted of a little old lady and two law students from Villanova so it wasn?t that bad.
I would still recommend this apartment since I enjoyed living there so much.
