First of all, I really love it here. I am a woman living alone and I feel safe here.
I enjoy being here and I love Bryn Mawr and the easy access to the Rte 100 trolley into the city.
However, there are some problems.
I am tired of hearing everything that is going on in the apartment below me. Being on the 2nd floor I practically tiptoe around after they knocked on the ceiling one night when I was playing some music at a moderate volume (it was nice music...)
Forget a good workout in this apartment. Its not possible without disturbing others. I can hear quiet conversations, a cough, everything. I can hear my neighbor snoring at night below. I'm lucky they are quiet people. This isn't a good thing to deal with day to day. It makes for a less than comfortable experience.
The staff is friendly and helpful in my experience. The apartments are lovely, but older. The maintenance staff did promptly respond to my one request.
Hot water in the AM can be a precious commodity. Especially in the winter. Some mornings it was impossible to take even a warm shower. I think that has been fixed since some work on the water system was done this spring.
It has a very safe, very comfy feel to it. But it lacks some things that are readily available elsewhere. In some ways (hauling your laundry two buildings away, having to open your Bath window to air out any smells) its a spartan existence.
The hardwood floors are stunning, and the windows are great. But the apartment can be cold in the wintertime.
I think it is good for an old fashioned, very respectful person who is not a partier and who wants a classy, clean (not one bug ever) and spacious living space.
I plan to stay, but not sure for how long.
