use caution

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008
I recently moved out and couldn't be happier. This place looks decent but be very cautious. First, the apartments aren't as big as the listed square footage and they are repaired in a hurry for the next tenant which means the walls have been painted over hundreds of times, there will be paint all over the wood floors, stuff will be broken when you move in and you will find crappy repair work in general all around your apartment. Some of the things present in my apartment when I moved in: there was a lovely botanical garden that grew up the bathroom wall, mold and lots of it,holes in the walls from the last tenant that were never repaired and the place was filthy. You can expect sky high gas and water bills for a few reasons. The apartments are really drafty for one so the heat is always going and secondly, the bills are on community usage instead of charging you for your individual usage so you pay for what everyone else does with their utilities. Your typical gas/water bill for a 1 bedroom apartment in this complex will be over $100 even in the summer.
Now, other things to consider...these apartments are the loudest place I have ever seen. A holiday inn with a high school marching band staying there is quieter. You can hear everything your neighbors are up to as well as the ruckus the college kids make outside. Speaking of the college kids, they will tell you that undergrads don't live there but they do. I agree with past reviews, parking is a nightmare after 8pm. The pool' You can forget about using that in peace too as it becomes overrun with loud and drunk college kids on nice days. Same with the laundry rooms, I had to take my stuff to a local laundromat because the washers and dryers were never free and half the time one or more of the units was out of service.
And lastly, the staff. The one redeeming quality of this complex is the maintence staff. I found that maintence requests were responded to very quickly though the problem was not always corrected the first time. The maintence guys that work here are all very friendly too. Now, the office staff is a different story. I went through two apartment managers while I lived here and they were both awful. They don't listen or try to address your concerns and usually you are met with 'well you signed the lease' which is less than helpful. Generally the office staff could care less about you and your comfort within the community.
Please spare yourself the pain and troubles of living here and find somewhere nicer. This place isn't worth a dime and I am so happy I moved out.
