I'll try to do a PRO/CON style without going on tangents

First let me say that about 65% of the tenants are retired. So it's a lot of older people. This is good because it's quiet but the older people also think they own the entire complex and do whatever they want.

PROs:
Good community, very quiet, most tenants are nice
Tons of parking, you should NEVER not find a spot
Pretty large apartments, have washer/dryer in unit
Has a large balcony and storage area
Two nice bathrooms, two bedrooms
walk in closet in master bedroom, 2 smaller closets in guest room
we upgraded to tile floors in bathrooms and kitchen, well worth it
the grounds were well maintained, clean
maintenance was quick and the maintenance man was always very nice, was polite and he got in and out of your apartment as fast as possible

CONs:
kitchen is pretty small, not enough counter space to cook meals etc.
the microwave is OLD. My parents had the same one in 1988.
windows are a little drafty, not horrible though
thermostat is OLD. I had to set the AC to 80 degrees to get it to shut off at 70.
If i set the thermostat to 70 degrees it ran until it was 50 in the apartment
if you lived on the third floor, good luck getting things moved in and out
the walls are pretty thin but luckily its a quiet community so noise isnt really a problem
rent is starting to get a little expensive for the size of the apartment
the washer/dryer are the compact kind so you have to do MANY loads to get all the laundry done

I'll get into some specific occurrences now.

Many of the older tenants think they own the community. When they go for walks in the morning or evening they walk right in the middle of the road/parking lot instead of using the sidewalks. They then give you mean looks when you drive slowly behind them waiting for them to move.

Our downstairs neighbor liked to complain about noise a lot it seems just for the sake of complaining. We had a women knock on the door at 6pm asking if we had a chair massage thing because she heard vibrating. I asked her if it was doing it right then and she said no. (then why did she randomly come up') I showed her that we didnt have anything like that and even let her give a look into the place. The same woman came up a week later complaining that every morning at 8am she could hear a man and a woman arguing very loudly. I explained to her that I start work at 8am and am out of the house by 7:30 and my girlfriend works night shift and doesnt get home until 8:30am so it couldnt be us... for some reason she couldnt grasp this.

Overall it was a great place to live, not perfect but much better than pretty much ANY apartment complex you will find. The older tenants just have to learn that the younger tenants will make some noise since they dont sit and knit quietly all day.

Got the deposit back in about 10 days. Only had $80 out to clean the carpets. They painted the walls and didnt charge. Great experience
