I have lived here for over a year. The main reason I decided to take the apartment was because they base your security deposit on your credit score. If you have decent credit, you don't have to pay a security deposit. My apartment is fairly nice. I have an updated kitchen with a washer/dryer in my unit. However, if I had to use the community laundry room, I would be very disappointed. The hallway outside my apartment ALWAYS smells bad and there is a very large white stain on the hallway carpet that has been there for months. My toilet has broken down 3 times in the one year I've lived there, which shows they've had to come back multiple times before the problem is actually fixed. Keep your fingers crossed....it's been 6 months and no more leaks! My water heater started leaking one night and they would not send someone over to fix it until the morning. In the meantime, it soaked the carpet in my bedroom as well as part of the carpet in the living room. However, even though they waited until the next day to fix it, it has not broken again since then. I have seen my "neighbors" in the building next door being taken out in handcuffs and police are a common (at least once every two-three months) presence. When I inquired at the leasing office about this, I was basically brushed aside and told they didn't know anything about it. So I do feel somewhat unsafe given that I am a single female and live on the ground floor. Oh, if you lock yourself out of the apartment, you have to call and pay for a locksmith. They will not let you into your own apartment (EVEN IF YOU HAVE ID) because they said they have no way of knowing if you really are who you say you are. Uh, I thought the ID would prove that, but maybe that's just me. I would never recommend living here long-term to anyone. But it's livable for a year, maybe a year and a half, tops. I plan on moving out within the next few months.
