The apartments are old but that’s nothing you can’t take notice of when being shown the place at the initial interview. The biggest problem is you can hear EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING the people next to you and above are doing. There are 2 pieces of dry wall separating you from your neighbor, that’s it.
Want to watch a Monday Night Football game' Can’t do it. Want to have friends over to drink wine and watch the Sopranos' Not without management being called on a noise complaint. Want to stay up late and watch a movie maybe' You guessed it. Better not be a night person if you want to live here.

I lived in a ground floor apartment. Only time we heard the people above us was if their kids were REALLY carrying on and messing around. I'm also a nightowl. Stayed up late watching TV, etc. NEVER had a noise complaint against me. Also held a fair number of parties. Again, no noise complaints. Getting to know your neighbors a bit, and letting them know if you want to hold a party or get together goes a LONG way.
