Rent Some Where Else
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 11/24/2002
Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2002
If you have the option, do not rent from NPI, the owners of Society Hill Apartments. The first year living at the apartments was not bad but after signing our lease renewal the management decided they made a mistake on the rental increase. We were than asked to resign at a higher rate. This was done outside a sixty day window clearly stated on the lease. After talking with the management we were permitted to stay at the first rental increase. Three months later we got a threatening letter: Pay full price or we are going to evict you. We decided to stay since the overall price would have been cheaper than losing our 1 month security deposit. Other issues with the apartment are as follows: Poor heating and cooling systems, mouse and cockroach problems, intermittent problems with water pressure, smells coming from other appartments evident in the bathrooms, a $5.00 fee charged for each guest per use to use swimming pool, use of harmfull chemicals on plants and grass, road noise, strict policy on window drapes, cable hook up only in one room, only 2 phone jacks (kitchen and master bedroom), dust problem from both rug and dryer even on other side of unit, and a general unhappy and snobby feeling from fellow residents.
