Let me start off by saying Ventana Hills was a nice place to live. For the most part, it was quiet. The washer never seemed to work though, even after maintenance had fixed it. The only negative things I can really say about Ventana were the residents driving, and the office staff. If you have a pet, BEWARE!! The people are under the impression that it's the Ventana Motor Speedway and drive in excess of 40 MPH in a 15 MPH zone. There were several times when walking our dogs that we almost were hit by careless, speeding drivers. This brings me to the only other complaint, the office staff. I called there several times about the problematic driving, and they said that they called the local police, and that's all they could do. Well that's not all you can do. Put in more speed bumps! That'll slow the people down! Also, my lease was up and I was unsure whether I was staying or not, so I entered into the month-to-month lease. Not only was this a significant increase in rent (mind you I was already there for a year, and they in turn raised the rent $160 per month), but they rented my place before I even gave notice I was leaving! I met with the office manager, who had the IQ of dog poo. He gave me this runaround about they have the right to do this and that, blah blah blah. I asked them if they'd let us move into another unit for at least another month, but that went in one ear and out the other. Basically they said "get out!" As if all of this wasn't bad enough, they informed me of all of this on the 29th, which gave me 2 days to pack up all of our stuff, and find somewhere new to live. Luckily for us, we found a great place, and are happily living there now. Overall I would say Ventana Hills was a good place to live, but just make sure you and your dog wear a helmet and shoulder pads when walking, and steer clear of the office staff!

I worked at Ventana Hills previously. I want to address the speeding cars. First there is a posted speed limit of 15 m.p.h. And just like on any road people are apparently incapable of driving the speed limit. And yes that does include "adults". We had speed bumps in while I was there. They had to removed for the winter because of the steep hill. But other than that, we had more people complaining that they were harming their expensive cars...than there were people who were happy they were there. Additionally, they started to drive in the yards, through the landscaping and weaving to avoid them. They became more dangerous than anything. And unfortunately, with out knowing who was speeding or driving carelessly .... what would you like us to do??? Chase the car down to give them a citizens ticket? We authorized the police to come onto the property, they handed out several tickets to those who did not want to obey the speed limits but apparently they have enough money and do not care. Imagine that. As for your being randomly picked to JUST get out. Im willing to bet that you gave notice to move out and they rented the apartment like they were supposed to. Then you probably came in on the 29th trying to find out if you could stay longer. What do you think happens when you tell a place your moving out. They try to re-rent it. Hey some places will actually bring prospective tenants into your place to look before you even leave. And yes they have the right to ... it is in your lease that you signed if they do it.
