This has been the worst experience at Devon Home Properties.
The staff will lure you with a great looking model apartment and will insinuate that you will DEFINITELY get what you see. That is absolutely not the case!
PROS:
Acme and public transportation is within walking distance.
Parking isn't a big issue.
There is an on site gym, but it is small and unsanitary.
Swimming Pool
CONS:
When we moved in the apartment was still dirty, the refrigerator had a terrible odor with broken shelves, our dishwasher was outdated, weak and left spots on all our dishes!
Showering is always a problem since we only have a choice of piercing hot water or ice cold water with no pressure or overly high pressure.
Utility bills are overpriced because we end up paying for utilities used in the whole building divided by the apartments. That means the laundry facilities, hallways are part of our expenses!
The smell of the apartment building is always musty. If you cannot stand the smell of Indian cuisine then absolutely do not move here as the community is predominantly Indian.
Villanova Students beware, the management staff will take advantage of your inexperience as a renter. I would suggest you find another place that doesn't have deceitful and manipulating staff that overcharge students and tell them deals that they do not follow through with.
There are no cleaning agents for the gym. Gross.
There are laundry facilities in the buildings but you can only use them with cards where you pre-fill with money all the way at the gym.
Maintenance staff will come and fix whatever problem you have while you're away, but will leave all the lights on.

1. The gym is actually a good size compared to other apartment complexes I have seen or lived in. 2. If the apartment was still dirty, you should have reported it to the office and have them clean it before you moved in. 3. If the refrigerator was not in good shape, again, you should have reported it to the office. 4. Your dishwasher might have been outdated if you were not renting an upgraded apartment. This is something you should have expected in renting an apartment that has not been upgraded. 5. The shower's temperature does tend to change a bit while you are taking a shower, but never that extreme. 6. Utility bills are actually really cheap compared to where I have lived before. 7. Apartment buildings always smell like the food your neighbors cook. That happens no matter where you live. The halls are actually cleaned very regularly, and they changed the carpets in the halls again too. 8.Management staff is always trying to take advantage of inexperienced renters. That is their job, you will get that anywhere. You just need to go with somebody who knows what they're doing. 9. People also clean the gym regularly. 10. You poor thing, you have to walk ALL the way to the gym that is in the very center of the complex, and no more than 1/10th mile away from any building. Maybe you should hire a taxi to drive you over! Laundry cards are a frequent thing now in apartments. Do you know why? Because tenants like them better than a pocket full of quarters. The managers also don't want people who don't live there using their machines. This is the only way to make absolut sure the machines are only being used by the people who live there. I am honestly glad I don't have to drive to the bank to get a roll of quarters every time I want to do laundry. I can also put as much as I want on the card, and not worry about it running out in the middle of a wash.

When renting an apartment, why should you need to ask the staff to clean the apartment? It should be mandatory that the apartments are cleaned when rented out. This also happened to me with 2 apartments so this person is not alone. The Indian scent is all over because the apartments share ventilation. that's right, you are breathing the mold, dust, scents, etc of your neighbors within that building. Disgusting!

all these complaints you have could have been fixed had you called maintanence. its not our fault that you are stupid and choose not to
