Been here a week and I find that the staff are very professional and pleasant. Had a couple things needed fixed when we moved in and the maintenance guy fixed them promptly. Stuff happens, stuff needs fixed sometimes, but as long as someone fixes it that is reasonable to me. The heat pumps are old and cranky, but the rent is lower than most places, so go figure. If they replaced all the heat pumps in this place they'd have to raise the rent! Can you imagine what it would cost to replace all those heat pumps'

I was informed of the terms of the lease, we went over the lease before I signed; very forthright and smooth transactions with regard to the paperwork that needed done to move in. The rent is reasonable, and the late fee was explained to me very clearly before I signed the lease. I hope I am not ever late on rent due to being laid off or something,but the late fee is going to be a fact of life in any apartment complex- it's part of the lease- take it or leave it.

I read the post about the person who states that if you pay 6 days late there are court costs etc. I'm not sure this is an accurate account of what occured. If the apt. management went to law to get the rent I can only assume it was more than 6 days late, correct me if I'm wrong but I have serious doubts about that post being totally forthcoming with what actually happened and when. But I could be wrong, and if I have some kind of problem like that where there is an extra fee for court costs and I am only 6 days late with the rent I will certainly report it here! But I doubt that would happen (court fees that is) unless I was far more than 6 days late paying.

;) I have to agree with you assessment of the Court costs. I used to work in a district court. What most likely happend was that the tennet was late repeatedly and forced the landlord to file on them. Most of the courts ( I don't say all cause I didn't work in every court) require the Landlord to send a warning letter also.
