I wish I had known before I signed my lease

I would not recommend this place to live to any of my friends. I think the management is lacking in the intelligent department. I also think that the people that are in the rental office that take care of the rent checks and the signing of the new leases are incompetent. They have lost one of my checks that I dropped off in the rent slot and turned that into an even bigger mess.
They offered a bonus to those who paid their rent ealry each month and when asked how long that would be in place for before I signed my lease I was told that they woul;d not be getting rid of this beacuse it inspires people to actually pay their rent. This bonus was then taken away just 4 months into my lease. They didn't even offer to let those who are taking advantage of the bonus to continue until the end of their lease.
I have also had an ant problem in my apartment, and trying to have them send out someone that day was not happening. Apparently, they only have the exterminator out on Wednesdays, with no exception!!!
I will never let anyone I know move into this complex, and I would definatley never recommend this place to anyone!

the special that was running when you moved in was not mentioned in your rental agreement, it can start and stop at any time. You were fortunate to have had that advantage for 4 months! No other complex would/was offering a special to current residents that lasted as long as that one did. Anyone can say they dropped off a rental check and truely never did, I doubt they cashed your check. If it was managements fault, please understand that no one is perfect. If you had a serious problem an exterminator would have been called out ASAP, if not the company comes out if you have a problem or not every wednesday. I would tell management your issues, im sure they want to help you, they arent there to make your life miserable.

To Mickey96, I read your review about Meadowlake Apartments. Being in the Property Management field myself and not affliated with Meadowlake, I could write a book on rent checks that are dropped off not signed, checks that get eaten in the mail by their dogs, and especially Management losing checks thru a mail slot, which in my experience is virtually impossible. First of all Mickey you may not know how to write a rent check because you certainly cannot spell. Perhaps the next time you want to drop off your payment, ask a friend to write the check, and then REALLY DROP IT OFF, THATS AN OLD ONE. There are so many more unique excuses that that one. From someone who has heard every excuse in the book, and can spell too. Pay or sleep in your car. |

Obviously both of the responses posted are from management or friends of management because you took their comments way too personally. I have never had a problem check wise with Meadowlake, nor do I really have as much bad things to say, but I feel that this person does need to be represented. We are renters at Meadowlake and when we asked upon move in whether or not that 10% discount was a promotion or not, we too were told that it was not ending. Sure enough, a month after we moved in, it did. You are right, it is not in our lease but surely Danielle would have known a month in advance if it was ending or not. We still would have rented the apt. either way. You don't need to be slimy about things.

Nothing slimy about not reading your own agreement. The problem is too many people sign agreements because either they do not understand, or do not want to take the time to read what they are signing. I am a current resident, and quite happy. I have never had a problem with contracts, because I do not rely on other people to interperet them, and am intelligent enough to ask questions before signing. After all, we are adults. |
