I hate living in Darrow apartments. Everything is just barely staying together. The carpets are so dirty they make the soles of my feet black. We told management and they claim they shampooed the carpets before we moved in, but if we want to shampoo them again at our own expense we are welcome to. The floor boards are falling apart, the windows are really hard to open and close plus they leak and are extremely drafty. There is mold growing all over the windowsill in the living room because of all the moisture coming in. There is no point to cleaning it off because when we do, it's back the next day.

The only time management ever showed concern for our wellbeing was when the state inspectors were going around. Then they replaced our smoke alarm, which didn't need replacing in the first place.

The kitchen is a joke, there is absolute 0 counter space, nowhere enough cupboard space, we can barely fit two dishes side by side in the sink, and the oven only has one large burner. They also try to shove a table in the kitchen to make an eating area and that only clutters up the kitchen even more. There really is barely room to move with two people in it. And it's carpeted. Who in their right mind carpets a kitchen floor' It's horrible when you spill something like raw egg!

The money they charge for this place is ridiculous. I'd rather live in the dorms. At least there I can be assured I won't fall through the floor. I paid $2,075 up front for something slightly worse than a cheap motel' Oh, and that is per person. There are 3 people living in my apartment and we each had to pay $2,075 so total that equals $6,225 for 3 1/2 months. You have got to be kidding me. Are they really trying to tell me that this apartment is worth almost $2,000 a month' You can find penthouse suites for less than that. Can you pay this monthly' No. Full payment is expected up-front.

I think our apartment has been "inspected" at lease half a dozen times since I moved in. I don't know what they are actually looking for since nothing is ever done afterward. It feels like Darrow just wants to poke around all my stuff for no good reason. They don't even do that in the dorms.

Oh, and if you want quiet, don't bother with Darrow. I hear nothing but yelling and carrying on from neighbors, people blasting their car stereos. In the winter I get to hear snow blowers and guys scraping snow off the porch at 7am, but that's only if they actually do it. A lot of times they wait until the snow and ice is so bad they finally have to do something about it. And I guess they have lights attached to the buildings for safety purposes but it really just shines into my apartment all night and sometimes blinds me.

That's not even all my complaints about Darrow. This review is already too long. My roommates and I hate this place and we are moving the first chance we get.
