It's Not That Bad

I like living at Lynnewood Gardens. I'm on South John Russell Circle and it's pretty quite there. I'm in a really good location, I have a playground right behind my apartment where my son goes to play in the warm months and I am able to watch him from my kitchen window. Also, his school bus stop is directly across the street on Williams Way & South John Russell. It's convenient for me.

As far as the apartments go, I understand that they are pretty old buildings, not as modern as we would like, but to me they are a little cozy and I like that mine also has a private entrance, and a eat-in kitchen.

On the down side, I don't think that we should have to pay extra for any upgrades done to these apartments, because the renovations are long overdue for each unit. Your rent will go up another $30 or more just to have new appliances & cabinets put in.

What they will do is, wait until you move out and then do the upgrades and charge the next person the higher rent. There is no central air, but they will give you an air conditioner, but at an additionl cost per month. I do not believe that is fair.

This is a huge complex and I know that they can afford to upgrade each apartment without charging the additional rent. This complex receives serious money every month, I know by the end of the year, they should have a few million dollars, they might have that before the end of the year and they should not go up on the rent every time you renew your lease. I can see every other year, but not every year. Your not giving me a years worth of upgrades so why increase my rent every year. Are you trying to force people to move out or are you trying to keep people there, what is the goal here'

We need new bath tubs, because they are so old and painted over so many times, that if you do not have a bath mat in there, you run the risk of falling and seriously injuring yourself.

My over all view of living at Lynnewood Gardens, is that it's an ok place to live. I have good neighbors so far and we all get along well. My son gets to go to a school that is in the top 10 school districts in the entire country.

I just believe that, Lynnewood Gardens should not go up on the rent every year, but every other year nor should they charge you for any up-grades that need to be done in these apartments anyway. I think that it is a shame that they won't upgrade your apartment while you live in it, and that they wait until you leave. I'm a good tenant and I pay my rent on time, like so many others there, why shouldn't we have what we should have anyway, without having to pay extra for it.
