I have lived in Lyneewood for a year now. Overall, I have had a pleasant experience here, but will list the pros and cons below...
-Pros-
* New carpets and kitchen counters were installed right before moving in
* Friendly neighbors
* Nice property and landscaping
* Water and Gas (which includes heat) is included in rent
* Our Electric bill has not been more than $40 a month (pretty good)
* Quiet neighbors and I have found the walls to be somewhat thick so I cannot hear through the walls
* Streets are well lit
* Laundromat is large and machines work well. I have never had to wait and I am able to finish my laundry quickly
* I have always felt safe
* This is a pro and a con...Snow was shoveled quickly and effectively from the pathways during a storm. This was very helpful. But, the streets were not plowed at all for the entire first day of a snow storm. Therefore, I was able to walk to my car with no issues, but had a lot of difficulty getting out of my parking spot
* Rent is pretty fair. $860 a month for 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Like I said before, electricity is $40 a month and we don't pay other expenses.
-Cons-
* Maintenance is not horrible, but not great (I had an emergency once with a flood and had to continually call maint. for 12 hours until somebody finally arrived. I got an answering machine every time I called that said the machine was filled so I couldn't leave a message or talk to a person. Considering I have 1 bathroom in my apartment, I was forced to go to a local restaurant to use their toilet throughout the day). The other times I have called them, I was able to get through and had my small problems (such as clogged drains) get fixed quickly. But, my one horrible story with them has left an impact.
* Horrible mice and roach problem (since January we have caught 10 mice and in the process of catching mice, we also caught about 6 roaches). This would be my worst complaint of all mostly because I hate rodents.
* Parking is not bad before 9pm, but if you come home past 9 expect to walk far
* Closets are very small
* Bath tub has been chipping large clumps of paint since the week we moved in. It seems as though they continue to paint the tub before new residents come in so it looks nice, but is quick to change
* Although I stated before that I have always felt safe, there have been at least 4 times when I have come home late at night to find the police at a nearby neightbor's apartment. Once an entire K-9 unit was there searching for somebody with a bright light shining on each person that walked by (a little intimidating)
* A neighbor of mine was fixing a tire on his car and left a few braquets under the car, and Lynnewood towed his car. Granted, it is stated in the lease that no car work can be done on property, but still a little ridiculous
This had been the second apartment complex I have lived in, and overall I was satisfied. The rent was much cheaper than the last complex so I expected to take a little bit of a fall as for maintenance and upkeeping. I am moving out soon since I am relocating, but if I wasn't relocating I would sign for another year.
I hope you found my review to be helpful and honest.
