Not bad but....

I am finally leaving my one bedroom after 3 years. It's a bit expensive compared to comparable apartments inside some city neighborhoods, but it is inexpensive compared to other apartments in Cheltenham township. Overall I do not have too many complaints. I have only called maintenance twice since I've been here to fix a ceiling fan and my refrigerator handle. While he was here he also fixed my toilet handle. The heat is warm and it's free. There is plenty fo parking for a $5 yearly fee. But if your registration expires, you'll get towed. The ruthless tow truck driver ignores your apartment parking validation sticker and will tow you if your registration expires. Worse of all, it's in the lease that they can do it!
Centipedes are rampant, so if you're afraid of them , don't move here. Also, every year there is at least one blackout during the warmest part of the summer. It doesn't help that my enitre apartment is wired to one 15 amp breaker. Apartments closest to Cheltenham Avenue seem to be priced lower. Apts in the back are more expensive, but the area is generally quieter. Some residents violate the lease and grow plants on the grounds. Other residents show no regards for the grounds and drive on the grass leaving it scarred. But overall the grounds look pretty nice.
For a person just starting out, or in college it's fine. The cheaper car insurance as compared to the city, and avoiding the city wage tax is a plus in itself.
