may seem cheap but they'll get you in the end!

I lived in Lynnewood Gardens for 2 years. I also have friends that have lived there.
Finding parking was not so bad the first year but is considerably getting worse as more renters are moving in. Very hard to find parking at night. Also, our new car got hit on the bumper a couple of times by people who can't parallel park.
Many of the staff, especially in the office, are not very friendly. They seem very bitter and probably hate their jobs.
There's a lot I can write about but I mainly wanted to warn people who are considering moving to Lynnewood - the rent may seem cheap in the beginning, but that's just a way for them to lure you in. They will charge you for everything and anything that they can and get you in the end..so beware!
You have to mail your rent to their central office in NY. My rent check got lost in the mail once and I was charged a $75 late fee.
You can spend as much time and effort cleaning your apartment and getting it to the same move in condition but they will still find ways to charge you a ridiculous amount of money. Please look somewhere else!

I can only add a hardy AMEN to the above post. The leasing people were very very nice. However residential services are NEVER there. I kept track of the calls my roommate and i made to resident services for one month- 10 calls from us with numerous messages left. Only ONE return call. No one walks through at the beginning or the end with you. When I emailed them some problems when we moved in, they asked me to CALL them about it, then did nothing about it and THEN charged me for it at the end because we didn't have proof of our phone conversation. All I can say is if you're already there, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING. Send in your lease renewal form CERTIFIED MAIL RETURN RECEIPT. We were told they never got ours almost 2 months after we sent it (which would have been legally too late and we would have had to pay extra to move out). I'm glad we sent it certified mail because we wouldn't have any proof that they got it within the 60 day limit! Don't ever take anything they tell you on the phone as binding on their part (its only worth the paper it's printed on). In the lease they state right up front that you are giving up certain IMPORTANT RIGHTS and they are not kidding. You can't even bring them to court because its says in the lease that if you do bring them to court, YOU, the tenant, pay THEIR legal fees...period. Not if they win. Just by standing up for what is fair! Potential renters beware...current tenants...be diligent and get things in writing. Take pictures of EVERYTHING when you leave and make sure it's date stamped. If anything is broken or even not working 100% right, send them a letter (certified mail)detailing what is not working properly. Follow up all coorespondence with an email or letter detailing what was received and what was discussed...and make dated copies of everything. Know your rights as a tenant and know that you are allowed to make changes to the lease, especially the illegal clause to pay for their legal fees and strike it from the lease before you sign. If they won't agree to the strike out, WALK AWAY.
