What some of the other reviews fail to mention is the issue of noise. Anyone who has ever lived in an apartment will tell you to expect normal apartment noise even the lease at the Meadows clearly states this. However, should you consider living at The Meadows, do not accept a unit on the first floor. It is absolutely startling how many times per day two sets of doors slamming will affect your attempt at a peaceful day or evening. Furthermore, the sound of people walking and/or running around has actually shaken the pictures on wall. Perhaps the most disconcerting of this problem is the fact that a vast majority of these sounds appear to be made by small children. While I personally have nothing against children living in the same complex as me, I would prefer to be able to take the occasional nap after a long day of work without living beneath Romper Room. For the record, dogs are not allowed in this complex. However at this point, I'd prefer to hear the casual bark or trotting of a dog in favor of my current living situation. Honestly, feeling my ceiling shake (while a toddler and mommy dance to the Wiggles 4-5 times a day) is nothing short of unfair. On a side note, it is quite refreshing to see families playing in the allotted playground area near the Meadows parking lot....however, the playground is there to PREVENT and discourage children and parents from having play dates and track meets on second floor apartment units. Conversely, should someone on the first floor make any noise whatsoever, he or she is the one to blame for disturbing baby's nap. The Meadows is a nice area to live in but only if you're on the second floor. Skip this place if they only offer you a first floor apartment. For the money you're going to spend (approximately $1,000.00 per month) find a place with peace and quiet. I know that I am out of here as soon as my lease is up.
