I lived in landmark square for a year. September 2006-October 2007. We moved into a Large 2 bedroom... we were the first tenants in this "newly remodeled" apartment. At first I thought the place was great, everything in the apartment was new, or so it seemed. Once you live there you realize what a crappy job they did remodeling. The walls in the bathroom were sloppily painted white over the old nasty walls that were always crumbling... and a weird yellow-brownish substance kept appearing on the wall near the toilet.. it looked like sap dripping down the walls it was disgusting. No matter how many times we cleaned them it came back, also the ceiling above our bathroom leaked water from the shower above... better then being my neighbors upstairs....... one of their bedroom ceilings caved in completely because the roof was rotting! It happened 2 times.. not just once. I tried hanging pictures in the living room....... No go some of the old walls are concrete and literally crumbled all over the place. Oh and theres no fan in the bathroom. Also the air conditioning and heating system.. though brand new.....sucks. In the winter the back bedroom (mine) was always freezing, the heat didnt even blow back there, while the front bedroom was a sweat box. The A/C didn't work at all. I swear it just blew warm air, its a waste to even turn it on... Maintenance is pretty good about taking care of things... my garbage disposal broke once and they came up right away... other problems we called about they ignored (like the toilet handle breaking off) we just took care of ourselves. Parking is TERRIBLE. It was ok when we first moved in because more then half of the buildings were undergoing renovations and no one lived in them, mid-way thru my lease it got horrible, i'd have to park 2 blocks away and got tickets all the time, because of weird parking laws. (You can only park on this street even days, after 4 - or on the weekend) and you can only park on that side of the street odd days after 5. WTF' There ALOT of screaming little kids running around, and they always wake you up on the weekends or annoy the crap out of you daylight til- dusk. Management has a policy that kids under 12 werent allowed running around the place without an adult.. it was NEVER inforced. Noise was an issue at night, people would blast music all night long, drunks would come back and scream and smash things, and the people above doing private things would wake me up out of dead sleep at 3 am... this all on a week night. Had to walk garbage 3 blocks to the dumpster.. Pretty good about keeping the sidewalks clear in the winter, but the roads are horrible, good luck getting out of the parking lot! Washer and dryers are worthless, you may as well wear your clothes dirty, because thats the way they come out. Its like wasting money-- take your clothes to the laundromat by strong Vincent if you move in here (which i don't suggest moving in of course) Grounds are nice and pretty well maintained. Stacey doesn't keep good records in the office about the books, and i often got notices that i was late with my rent.. not true.. she is hardly ever there, good luck not getting the answering machine. They do let you have pets, which was nice, i think they have changed their policies now about pets and they are stricter though. I would just find somewhere better to live.. for what you get its definately NOT worth the money. You could rent half a house or an apartment in a house for 60% of what you paid here and be much more happy. NOT WORTH WHAT YOU GET.

umm... ok... so I've lived here in Landmark for a year so far as well and all I really have to say about this person's review is that she/he is way outta line with some things. So I think I should rationalize this person's problems with a more "unbias" approach: 1. ok the apartments are newly renovated, in case you didn't read up on landmark, these building were built in like 1920... you're gonna have some minor issues with walls, appliances, and ceilings 2. I don't think it's possible to walk three REAL blocks and not find the garbage, complete exaggeration. So you've got to walk a block for the garbage... maybe you need exercise anyways? 3. parking issue: ok so you've got to walk to your car sometimes.. see problem #2's response. 4. So drunks on friday nights and little children running around here and there make you angry... sounds like a "you" problem. 5. And management doesn't work the books to your liking. To that I can honestly say I've had some book issues with Stacey but through it all she's been professional and sincere with apologies and quickly fixed the matter immediately. Either I live on the happy side of Landmark Square or some people just have nasty outlooks on just about everything, including where they rent.

i was goingto rent from landmark.. but my daughter was in prison for selling drugs and she was not aloud to live there when she got out.. so they are someone else that want to give people that were in prison another chance..
