Definitely not the greatest place to live, but better than living in a cardboard box
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 3/31/2008
Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
The Good:
-Don't have to worry about your guest's car getting towed.
-Residents don't hold parties (probably because the apartments are small, so it would be difficult to fit a lot of people in).
-The bedroom is a good size.
-The power doesn't go out often during ice storms. It's only gone out less than a hand full of times in this area of Erie.
The Bad:
-The landlord, when asked questions, will not tell the whole truth. After living here, I've come to find out a lot of the answers I got from the landlord before I moved in were false. I'd advise to take what he says with a grain of salt.
-Very poorly insulated. The drafts from all the windows and the one A/C unit in the bedroom are probably a huge reason why the electric bills for heating each month during the long Erie winters are so high.
-During the summer, it gets extremely hot in the living areas, since the only A/C unit is in the bedroom.
-Be prepared to share your apartment with various insects (mostly spiders and ants)and mice/moles (complex sits next to a field).
-Very slow with plowing. Sometimes doesn't get plowed.
-The walls are very thin, so you can hear your neighbors talk, walk around (noticeable if you live in a lower level apartment), and engage in activities at night.
-There is no peep hole on the front door.
-The bathroom and kitchen are very small.
-Warm water doesn't last very long during showers.
