Don t rent from Palermo Realty!!! Especially if you want you deposit back! When I move out of an apartment, it is always in better shape than when I moved in. I ve never failed to receive my full deposit back from any other place I ve rented. When I moved into Palermo s apartments they were totally trashed. The walls were scuffed and carpet not cleaned. The oven literally had a quarter inch of grime baked in it. I ve never seen nastier showers, and the toilettes even had bumper stickers attached to the seats. The only reason I accepted the place was because I was moving from out of state and the movers were showing up later that day. Anyway, even though the place was trashed when I moved in, I made it immaculate when I moved out. The whole place sparkled. I even painted over the scuffs on the wall that they were too lazy to paint before I moved in.
I work for one of best employers in Erie and have many friends who have rented from Palermo. I don t know a single person who has rented from them that wasn t totally disappointed with the experience by the time they moved out. Ha, I wish I had known the trouble my friends had before I moved in. I m writing this to hopefully save whoever is reading this a lot of hassle and money.
P.S. I should note that when they showed me the apartments for the first time, they took me to a very nice apartment that was well kept and very clean. But don t be fooled, when I moved in they said that apartment wasn t available and lead me to my trash heap. I would have been perfectly happy with my trash heap (because I spent days cleaning it up and making it look nice). However, I couldn t believe that they had the nerve to not return my deposit for making their apartment better.

Everything you said about Palermo is dead on. Honestly they should be investigated by the Attorney Generals office.

I agree with the other respondant. I just moved out and left the place in beautiful condition, and they not only kept my entire deposit but are trying to charge me on top of it. I'm sending them a demand letter, and if I'm not satisfied with their response, I'm filing a complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General. If you're still angry, I suggest you file one too!
