Due to the region of country I am living, we decided to move back to my hometown of Erie, PA, and researched everything available and within our price ability to make the long distance move back. Pastore's Willow Wood Townhomes on west 38th & Zuck sent us information and application for a 3 brm, 2 bath 1400 sq. ft. townhome for $655.00/month so we jumped on it and sent our deposit moneis as required by overnight mail as they asked us to do.
Then a day later they call, and some assistant named Natalie told us we could not rent from them afterall because I have too many children! When I asked to speak to the leasing manager, Carrie Weaver, I tried to explain what we are going through here and our lease expiring in days and never once did Pastore ever tell us about limits on people in the home. She started to get angry with me, the prospective tennant, and told me they only have room for 1 car at each unit and no more than 4 persons in a family. When I told her that was not my problem they planned parking so poorly for size of the units, she got even more irrate and told me she didn't care about my family situation or what it was costing to locate back to Erie- and to go elsewhere!
This treatment is what I will not stand for from anyone who calls themsleves professional!!!
I have total of 5 in my family right now. My wife, myself, our 4 year old, and 2 older sons who are in college and both hold jobs even, but they cannot afford to live on their own here in western NC on 7.00/hr where we are currently living! We were to move back to Erie, re-establish ourselves (by request of some former business associates), and the 2 older sons were to get out in their own apartment anyway once there, because it is far cheaper to live in Erie than where we currently reside and more work opportunities there to boot; and they could afford to rent in Erie on their incomes.
But this lease manager got upset with me as if I was talking about moving in my 30 illegal mexican family members, and here we are a decent, clean organized family of 5 with references from affluent Erie business people even and past lease agents willing to supply us letters to this effect- and I was so taken back by how Pastore's lease manager Carrie Weaver treated us, we would not reccommend anyone dealing to them if this is how they will turn on you.
Then she started to say they worry about damage to the townhomes from parties or large groups, and when it I told her none of that even applied to my family, she didn't want to talk anymmore to me either about any compromise. Hell, since my divorce happened 7 years ago, I have paid in excess of over $80,000.00 in rental lease agreements payments and NEVER once had this happen! I offerd to prepare letter in writing giving my older sons up to 90 days to get established in Erie with jobs and into their own apartment, and she refused to even hear this option.
We from the start told them the truth of our situation, we sent formal application and resumes to them and other materials with a deposit check even for a move in date of July 15th, 2005 in the unit they told us would be ready- then after they receive our materials treat us like this'' Now what are we supposed to do with limited time and resources after wasting all this time with Pastore' This affects my family and I will not stop here as I told their offices, and the Erie Times News and Pastore will receive a letter of complaint about this; as I am ashamed how I am treated from my own hometown after being away several years, and ym new wife seeing this treatment as well, and trying to locate my business there as well and what is left of my family..
This Lease Manager simply didn't care at all about a prospective family, and I wonder how they really treat others who are renting from them at Willow Wood Village West after what we expereinced' This is dispicable and I taught my children to respect people better than this woman evidently was...

I think you have some much more severe issues than with Pastore. Natalie is actually one of the nicest people you will ever meet. NOBODY should read this review as useful information. 1) you haven't even lived there 2) after reading this, you were clearly giving everyone at Pastore a hard time so they gae you a hard time right back. No landlord in there right mind would rent to 4 adults and 1 child in a small 2-bedroom place. I lived here and recommend it to anybody. |

The problem with Pastore is their insane upping of the rent every year. Horrible way to retain tenants. No breaks in rent no matter how long you stay there. Stay there for 15 years, and you'll be paying $800.00 month for a $585.00 apt. Don't renew lease and they'll loose thousands in down time. Just doesn't make sense and is false economy on Pastore's behalf
