We hated it too. Crazy employee saga. The old manager was way off but the new one is so miserable she won't even say hello or smile when you delivered the rent. We try to avoid employees in these old apartment buildings, but so much went wrong, that they never fixed that we had to deal with really rude ignorant employees. we are pleased to be living better out of here. The rent and heat are off the charts for such a flimsy place. It attracts a lot of young men who work cheap at the mall and restaurants and all live together cheap. They are too loud. Is this legal'

I just renewed my lease for what will by my third year at Chaddwell (rent increase was a modest $10/month with new lease) and have no complaints with the place. The buildings are brick, not sure how much more solid you can get then that, and, at least in the area of the complex i live, i never see anyone about other then octogenarians and young parents. i've been in the same 2nd floor apt for two years now and it's almost TOO quiet at times (i live alone so it can feel like being in a void over the weekends) and i've had two different sets of neighbors below me since i've been there. When I see reviews like this I can only suspect there's some area of the complex, maybe the larger, two-bedroom units, that is completely different then the area i live in, as our entire row of buildings are always neat and clean outside, the few people i see out are respectful of others (short of the youngs kids who's parents aren't watching them as they play in the parking lot), and it's very quiet overall. I guess I'm just one of the lucky ones as it's literally the quietest place i've lived in over the past 20 years or so. Again, the buildings are brick which, by nature, is not flimsy. I've yet to see any instances of 'young men who work cheap at the mall and restaurants and all live together' and if anyone knows the new office manager the review is referring to, she doesn't seem like the type who would allow this sort of thing. Plus she is replacing a job two people once did, most likely due to the corporation who owns this and other buildings trying to cut payroll (like most businesses these days) so give her a break as she's doing the job two people once did.

I, too, live in a 2nd floor apartment, and it is very quiet. Get a cat...they're great company, and they like it quiet, too!

I'm not sure who wrote the first response which was very derogatory but we have two excellent maintenance guys now and the manager, who I will say at first I didn't give the benefit of the doubt as I was upset at the other two being let go who I had a good repoire with, but our new Manager has been nothing if very nice to me, quite pleasant, and there could have been a lot of things going on we were not privy to know about. This is a nice apartment complex, with the exception of a couple of times that on my street someone new moved in with a ton of visiting kids that went on a weekend rampage, but I called and it stopped immediately. I have great neighbors and a lot of nice people that I have met and enjoy here at Chaddwell. Additionally, they are doing renovations, etc. My rent was increased but not near what I thought it would be, and hopefully Hankin, not our apartment manager (who can only ask that they don't raise our rents) takes into consideration the economy. Hey folks, we're getting new energy efficient windows, more upgrades to come...guess the person who wrote the nasty gram might have been not too nice themselves?
