I have mixed feelings about the 2 bedroom apt I had at Marchwood for the last two years. The apartment was inexpensive, spacious, and on reasonably attractive grounds. And despite what many people have mentioned, I found the maintenance people responsive and management reasonable. Then again, the utilities were expensive, many elements were cheap, inadequate, or poorly designed (for example, the oven's stripping buckled and warped when broiling for more than five minutes, closet door railings never really worked, and the toilet paper dispenser was mounted behind the toilet), and I had to pay over $900 to repair a four inch hole in the carpet. You can't get satellite according to management, yet there are dishes on poles throughout the grounds. Can't barbeque with charcoal either, but that might be a common insurance thing with apartments.
Overall, I look back on it as a bargain that wasn't really a bargain. You'd probably be happier spending another hundred or so somewhere else. If you're tight on money, it's a good enough place to be.
