When my boyfriend and I decided to move in together we looked EVERYWHERE in the Exton area (downingtown, w. chester, paoli, bryn mawr, KOP, etc.) and we found Whiteland West to be the most reasonable rent wise. The commute has worked out well for both of us (he works in Exton, 1 work in Chesterbrook). When I first looked at the apt. I fell in love (obv. it's my first apt with him!) but I came to realize you have to pay for the pool and gym, which let's face it is bull-. The tennis courts close at 6 and you need a key to get into them (from office). There are a lot of ethnicities within our complex but it is not a bad thing, you never see anyone or hear anyone unless it's 7 o'clock at night and everyone is making laps around the neighborhood for exercise. The first week our dishwasher broke, 2 days later it was replaced. About 2.5 months after we moved in the air conditioner broke, again that was replaced within the same week. We do have a slight cat pee odor in our den but if you leave the door open and let the cold air hit the room, it goes away. I have never before heard our neighbors (I think were the loudest). There are rumors that the electric bill is OUTRAGEOUS, ours for the first 2 months has been really reasonable, hitting a high of $135. The stove is a little old fashion but the entire apt. is old. After all you get what you pay for. Our rent is $860 for a 1 bd den (the BEST price for our area). It's quiet, id recommend it.
