Now that's a plus...
We parked our extra car in the overfill parking space as instructed by Beaufort Manor personnel.
One fine day it disappeared. I was frantic & called the cops.
Few hours later the cops traced it down to some towing company out in Yoe 60 miles away.
Officer said Beaufort Manor had ordered it 2 B towed.
I called Beaufort Manor and lady said "We didn't order any towing"
I reported this to the police officer.
Officer called lady and then she revealed Beaufort Manor has some crooked deal with this towing company to tow away vehicles which have expired Inspection(Imagine that Inspection ! not registration)
Apparently if I don't instantly fix my car and get it inspected (however unaffordable it may be) Beaufort Manor will tow it away. What must I do' dump it in the Susquehanna'
BTW it was no ugly eye-sore, but a spotless BMW 318i, with a failed oxygen sensor. It had been sitting for little over 15 days.
Anyways, I called towing company, they said pay $150. I asked when should I come. Guy says "Awww... anytime"
I call 4 days later to fix an apptmnt for pick up. Guy says now its $275 (150 towing 125 for storage)
It's obvious they are getting a cut from the deal.
A simple matter of just informing the owner of expired inspection, isn't profitable, now is it'
I don't understand who gave Beaufort Manor the right to check car inspections' Isn't that the Police officer's job'
What next' gonna check on 3000-mile oil changes too'
