I have lived here for over 2 years but when it comes time to renew my lease I am out of here. I don't even know where to start to review this place. I gave it a good shot at staying here but it is getting less and less enjoyable to live here with each passing day. Management is totally ignorant to resident's concerns. They just do not seem to care. It isn't locally managed. It's managed by a company in New Jersey. Maintenance is a real joke. If you do get mainenance to stop by they will start a job and leave without saying whether they are coming back to finish the job. That is if they do come by at all. You have to be persistent. I had to call for maintenance 5 or 6 times to get a simple maintenance issue completed. The crime is getting worse. In the past year alone there has been a rape, a stabbing, a shooting and numerous drug busts and who knows what else. I wouldn't be stretching the truth when I say I see cop cars in here day and night almost everyday. I know someone who keeps a gun by his nightstand. It is that unsafe here and getting worse. I think the windows are the original windows from when the buildings were erected in the 60s so be prepared for huge heating bills. Alot of the units do not have storm windows. To sum it all up... maintenance is unreliable and incompetent, crime is high, buildings are in need of serious repairs and renovations and we need management that cares about the residents. I am giving this a strongest possible 'NO' rating.

Every time I call maintenance they come right away and fix my problem correctly and very quickly. I don't remember the shooting or stabbing or rape... and there are drug busts in nice neighborhoods also, it's just stupid people doing stupid things, you won't get away from that. Even though the windows are cheap, my heating bill is just fine and I always have my apt. at 76.

All of the bad things said about the brook are true! I have only been here since september and can't WAIT until the lease is up. The statements that were made even left some things out. The maintenance staff themselves have stated to me that they don't even want to be here. I wish I would have reviewed this place more closely before moving in. Please do not fall for the fake office staff. They are "nice" until you sign on the " dotted line".
