The honest truth

I recently completed a 1 year lease with Camelot Village. I will try my best to give you an unbiased opinion.

The management staff was alawys helpful. No matter what the question they always had an answer. When we first moved in we had a problem with the diswasher. They attempted to fix it twice and were going to replace it but the second repair was sucessful. The property manager, Mark, was especially nice and helpful. He helped us with so many random things I couldn't list them all on one page.

The mantianence staff was also great. They were always prompt and did a professional job in the apartment. We only had to call them a couple of times throughout the year and they always fixed what we call for within a day or two.

Some people complained about the noise level while we stayed there. I would say they had an unreasonable expectation. Kids are loud yes. They, however were not out of line, they are just kids and have a right to play and yell as children do during reasonable hours of the day. Plus its against the law to discriminate against them and so no matter where you go you will have to "deal" with it. The lawn mowing woke me a couple of times and it upset me. However, as a reasonable person if they mow in the morning they would upset some and if they did it at night others. In the end we all want the grass mowed so again anywhere you go it is something you have to deal with. Just be thankful you aren't cutting it.

The apartment itself was a good value for the money we spent on it. It definately could have been updated but for our needs and for $685/mo. it was definately adequate. My neighbors were all nice. The ones below us were young and had parties but they were usually respectful and would cut the music off before too late. Even they were approachable and if there was a problem I would have definately confronted them and not have been scared to do so.

Saftey wasn't really an issue. I come from the country and this was the closest I have ever lived to a city so if anyone should have had been scared it should have been me. However, I never had a problem with vandilism or had to fear for my saftey in general. The police other people speak of in these reviews rarely do anything. They just sit there and that is better than no police at all in my opinion.

The only complaint I would really have is the heater/AC unit. It simply is not big enough for the unit. It will run constantly in the summer and in the winter. It cannot get the temperature to what you will most likely set it for but it is not unbareable. My simple solution, turn the AC to where it will turn off and run a fan instead.

All in all the community was clean, safe, and a relatively nice place to live for the price. Please also remeber most people who leave this opinions for reading had "bad" experiences and want to vent. Personally I believe many of them are the people you can't stand in real life because they are so uptight and self centered that they have no patience or flexability and would complain about living anywhere other than their own home because they cannot grasp the control they want of the situation. However, this is simply my opinion. Camelot gets my sticker of approval. Hope this helps in your decision. Happy hunting.
