I've lived here for a few years now, and the building & staff is great. Location is perfect, as you can walk to everything, and the building itself is in *OVERALL* great condition. The entire staff is extremely helpful. For a downtown building, it's also very quiet. No noise from your neighbors! Also, the apartments are in immaculate condition. They seem to be very sensitive about not having any stained carpet, worn fixtures, etc. And these have got to be the biggest apartments downtown.

However ... There are a few problems. (1) The garage door breaks all the time. Considering this is the only way out, if it jams while you're leaving for work, you're stuck. I've had to park on Second St MANY times because I couldn't get in, and during the off-hours it takes maintenance 20-60 minutes to arrive. (2) The elevators are slow, small (only hold 2 people comfortably), and prone to breakdown. There are only three for all 15 floors. When one breaks down during the morning rush, you'll have a five minute wait. And the garage elevator is just plain scary. During the winter it seems to get stuck in the basement almost every night! (3) Laundry facilities are barely adequate. Since dryers take longer than washers, at least give us 3 or 4 extra dryers to help lighten the load! Nothing like doing three loads of laundry, then waiting another 30 minutes with wet clothes for a dryer to open up.

Despite my complaints, it's the best place to live downtown. Especially if you want to be around the rebirth of Second Street, with all the restaurants, nightclubs, outdoor cafes, etc -- you can walk to them all! And as much as the elevators inconvenience me, it's not worth moving out over.
