I think because of the housing boom, MOST (but not all) of the good tenants bought homes leaving the landlords to sort through the remaining trash tenants from which to choose renters, hence the lax screening. Now they even have to trick people to live there. I was told on the phone no monthly pet fee and I could view the apartment before signing the lease. But when I arrived I was told there was a $25 monthly fee and neither of the 1-bdrm apts could be viewed, but I could see a model. Thinking this was crap, I walked out. Looks like I dodged a bullet that day. Saw this website later.
