I too had an experience where I was given a specific apartment, and at the last minute I was told it was no longer available; I would have to take another unit. Since I was moving from out of town, I didn't have much choice but to take the apartment. This past year I've felt like I'm living in a torture chamber- endless noise, hardly any light (the two windows were in the two bedrooms - nothing in the kitchen or the living/dining room!), flies that swarmed in through the venting, neighbors that let their kids use the hallways for their track meets (or to pile up their garbage bags from their weekend drinking). Calls to the management were pointless- they said call the police. Calls to the police said, call management. Just as you think things couldn't get any worse, someone began hijacking our cable, ordering hours and hours worth of "adult" features! Needless to say, I did not renew my lease. Please, do yourself the biggest favor - Just say NO!
