Most Awful Place Ever

I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy. My fiance and I have had so many problems here. They don't do anything about noise...they told me to call the cops after a certain hour if the noise continued. The people below us would smoke pot all the time and we complained but all they told us to do was call the cops AGAIN even though the smell was seeping up through the floor into our apartment. The monthly pet fee is ridiculous. The gym is awful and smells absolutely terrible. The staff is awful and rude and you are treated terribly here. And one staff member tells you one thing and another one tells you something completely different. The washer and dryer don't work very well. I had my dryer looked at and they told me it was working fine and just added a board underneath the hose to support it...well it takes my clothes almost 3 hours to dry which jacks up my electric bill then. And the washer jumps over half way across the floor everytime you run it. To get my fiance added to the lease, it took them 5 months to do it...even after repeated phone calls from myself to continue to keep on them about it. We were asked to supply check stubs and we did that right away, but by the time they got around to adding him because they took forever to do it, they wanted all new info. You are to pay about $200 if you want to add someone to the lease, that isn't added in the beginning. You feel like you are absolute trash from the way they treat you. And all the other additional and hidden fees that you are responsible for are ridiculous...you pay everything here and nothing is included and then you get sacked with these other fees because you have to pay for the w/s/t. Months ago we asked for a new outside key to get into the apartment building and we still haven't gotten one. When I first moved in, my key to the apartment didn't even work. I should have known it was a bad sign of what was to come and I wish I could have gotten out of the whole thing at that point. I paid my first months rent in person and handed it directly to someone and a few days later I got a letter stating my rent was late...they applied it to the wrong account even though I did exactly everything they asked. It's just headache after headache after headache. I would stay far away from this place.

thank you for expressing some incidents. People need to hear the good and not so good about the management and condition of apartment. You did well in detailing. I for one will refer folks to your review because you are giving valid reasons to reconsider renting there.

Tayla....these are just a few of the problems we have had...I could have gone on and on about it...but I would have been here all day typing the rating! LOL Seriously though...very bad place and we are desperately trying to get out once our lease is up!!!

I would contact Morgan Properties home office, a Vice President might not be happy to hear the things you mentioned. Most importantly showing them the pictures would grab their attention, as they say pictures are worth a thousand words. Now on the washer and dryer issue, I would state depending on the size and age, most washers and dryers are not meant for as much clothes as people shove into them and then making sure the settings are set right before you turn it on. As far as neighbors there is not a lot they can do, you will hear neighbors when you live in apartment buildings, and from time to time have smells coming from neighbors. This could be subsided by asking to see the apartment your actually renting and making it an appoint to walk through the common hallways and listen and smell, or by walking through the apartment and hanging out there for a few inside the apartment.

I totally concur - These guys nickle and dime you at every turn, make up rules that you can't immediatly deal with. I just got over a bout with Cancer, NEED my vehicle, which I haven't been able to get inspected due to me being out of work and catching up, and since they want to up the rent to well past what I can afford, I CANT do it. My jeep is now gone, probably towed, I will probably lose my job since I can't go no where, and my fiance will lose hers too. THANKS FOR WORKING WITH US, LAKEWOOD, YOU BUNCH OF CROOKS!!!!!!
