I lived in Pennswood for less than one year. I liked the place, good value. I lived in the rear of the community, it was nice. I moved in June 2004. Right after Christmas 2004, I started noticing ants in the bathroom. I thought one of the kids spilled something, so I super scrubbed and they kept coming back, also in the kitchen. I mean, SWARMS OF ANTS...HUNDREDS! They would be on the floor, walls, doors, counters, on the toilet and in the tub. I am not a dirty person, and they tried to blame it on me, saying there's never been a problem. They were supposed to be treating my apartment every week. A week or two before my move out, I called on the regular extermination day because I saw his truck at the other end of my building. I asked the Manager if there was an ongoing problem in the building, and he said no, they have never had a problem like this. As I was packing my moving truck last month, my opposite (also downstairs) neighbor was talking to me, and she asked why I was moving so soon. I explained. She said she has had nothing but ants for 2 years. They are charging me 2 months' rent to move out early. They won't reduce the fee due to my experiences. THEY JUST DON"T CARE that I had to live with BUGS for 2 months without repreive. Besides that, all other service calls were handled very quickly and they were generally nice. My neighbors right next to me were very friendly and it is a very diverse community. If you don't mind ants...then you'll be fine at Pennswood.

Lived there for 4 years (Amherst Drive) and had ants the entire time. Never got any satisfaction from the manager either.

This person is correct. Manayunk Rd, every apartment has an ant problem and management does nothing about it. The management staff sucks for tenants that live here. They are rude and act like you should kiss their ass for living here. People that live here pay good money for a clean apartment with no ants, no cracks in the walls, no leaks in the ceilings, no electrical fires. I have been in several of my neighbors apartments and they all have the above issues.

Several years later, nothing has changed. The same stuff is still happening to the people who currently live here. This place is a joke, can't wait for my lease to end so I can move.
