I have lived at Pennswood for a couple years, but I can't take the management of this place any longer. When they want to come in to do any repairs that you have not calld about, they give you a one-two day notice. I had several things missing out of my apartment, food eaten from my refrigerator, lights left on for hours, all the items in my living room closet removed and left sitting on the floor of my living room for me to put away because they wanted to check the wiring for the outside lights. I could have forgiven them for leaving stuff on the floor because they forgot, but to do all of the above and eat my food is pathetic.

When I call or stop by to talk to the manager with a complaint, the manager is never in. He also never returns your call. You get a note stuck in your mail slot in the early hours before you are awake. How lame is that'

Also, when you call the office the staff has an attitude if you have any kind of complaint.

They are in violation of so many rules, I am in the process of turning them in and reporting all the violations.

They do not shovel the sidewalks or even put down ice until two days after the storm has passed.

If you plant flowers in your front yard spot, the maintenace crew that cuts the grass just comes right up and chops up your flowers.

There is all kind of drugs being dealt, gangs of kids hanging out by the pool in the afternoon blocking the driving traffic. Loud music blasting all hours of the night. I see the manager and maintenance driving or walking by when these things are happening and they all turn a blind eye. When you call to complain about these things, they tell you that you should call the police. Why should I always have to call the police for these issues when its the property manager and his staff's job to handle these issues.

When you move in or out you better video record the place because they are well known to drum up charges against people to get extra money before they leave. Carpets are constantly being replaced that didn't need to be replaced.

There are cracks in the walls because the buildings are aging and not be upkept. Old stoves and refrigerators are installed in the kitchens and are fire hazards waiting to happen.

When you run the heat in the winter you have to turn the thermostat up past 90 to get it to circulate back to the bedrooms. Same in the summer with the air conditioning, you have to turn the dial down to 60 to get it cool through the apartment.

The laundry facilities are always crowded because there is not enough for the amount of tenants that reside in the buildings. I have to walk over two buildings to do my laundry because that is the closet to my apartment. The laundry rooms are filthy, the machines constantly breakdown and the dryers do not fully dry your clothes.

They send you your contract renewal notice one week before its due to be signed. So if you don't agree with the price hike you will be charged, you are not left with much time to find a new place. They do not allow month to month lease, only 3 or 6 months and for that you are still paying $50 extra, which is what other apartments charge for a month to month lease.

Do I even have to mention the still ongoing Ant problem' Walk outside or down the sidewalks and you are just crunching ants under your feet. You have buy all kinds of ant traps and sprays to keep them out of your apartment. The stink bugs are all over the balcony's and porches, the minute you open your door the rush to get into your apartment, but yet the management does nothing to spray to get rid of them.

When one of their selling points is that they offer high speed internet, you know there is not much to offer. Every place in harrisburg has high speed access. But they don't have access to Phios the really high speed internet.

The garbage bins are constantly overflowing. They have one garbage bin for several buildings. This attracts rats, mice, and other vermin.

You can hear everything your neighbors do, so in turn they can hear everything you do. The walls are paper thin and if you try to hang a picture you consider yourself lucky the hall wall didn't collpase. They are hollow walls. Do you know how many dead mice are rotting behind those walls'

At night Geese congregate in the pool. Pissing and crapping all night long, then the next morning the management opens it up and the kids go swimming in that dirty water.

Townhouses are constantly being robbed, even in daylight. The police have run by me several time with guns drawn looking for a suspect. Nice to see that when you walk outside with your child and could be in the middle of a gun battle.

I chose to live here because I moved in from out of the area and didn't realize what I was getting myself into. Until the management is changed, nothing here will change. So its time for me to make a change for the better.
