Nice place to live if you can tolerate the poor customer service.

I've been a tenant for over 4 years now. During the first year things were relatively decent with the exception of a very noisy upstairs neighbor. I renewed my lease without hesitation for a second year. I began to notice repeat occurrences of problems from the previous year.
Apartment is poorly insulated and quite drafty during the winter. Expect your gas bill to double during the winter and you'll still have to dress warm to be comfortable. Even by setting the thermostat to 75 degrees the back bedroom barely hits 55 during the colder months. Not too mention I had to use draft dodgers and blankets to cover the sliding glass doors because of drafts. During the winter months the hot water barely lasts 30 minutes even when using water economizing shower heads. I complained about the hot water heater and despite several check-ups everything was always working fine. Eventually the seals went bad and they had to replace it a year and a half ago, amazingly we had plenty of hot water this past winter. Every spring I have to place a service call to get the AC serviced. The system leaks out its refrigerant during the fall/winter and has to be recharged. Of course the recharge won't happen until several hot days and phone calls have taken place. It breaks down like this; after placing a call for service I'm told they will have the maintenance crew look into it. If your lucky maybe by that afternoon a maintenance person will come to the apartment to basically verify the problem. They will then contact an actual AC service person to schedule a repair which could take several more days. How promptly they respond to your service call is directly proportional to how often you complain. If they consider you a nuisance then you are certainly going to have to wait.
The office staff is pleasant enough when taking your rent check but relatively ineffective when it comes to customer service. For instance I complained last year because the upstairs tenants were dropping cigarette butts down onto my patio furniture from the patio above. I called the rental office to register a complaint and they responded by telling me they would send them a letter. I can only guess that they expected me to bang on their door and ask them to stop. But if your rent check is an hour past due you ll get your own letter with a $75 surcharge.
If your looking for someplace long term I would recommend you to look else where. The customer service is poor at best and they show no appreciation for repeat renters.
