Time to update Twelve Trees

I mean that in two ways. Both the complex and it's rating. Moved here a little over a month ago after owning a home for twenty years. This is a temporary situation until we get to know the area. new carpet and paint before we moved in. Could've cleaned up better but we didn't give them much time before we moved in. Previous review complained about the draftly windows. All the windows have been replaced, so that's not a problem anymore. The complex is showing its age (built in the 70's) and the owner needs to do some major investing in the heating system and insulation. Of course the tenant pays the heating bill so I don't think either of those are going to happen soon. They are replacing kitchen cupboards as they can. Ours are pretty well shot but they didn't replace them before we moved in Kitchen is small and I mean small. It's just my wife and I and we can't both be in there at the same time. Office staff have been great and responsive. especially Lisa. They don't seem to try and hide anything. If you ask a question they will answer it and they recognize that the age of the place is working against them. Maintenance has also been very responsive but I think the level of their expertise could be improved. Told my wife they couldn't fix a sticking and squeaking drawer. I fixed it that night with a can of vegetable spray and a screwdriver. Area is quiet for the most part. There are children and when they're playing outside you can hear them. They play at reasonable hours and they're kids. They're suppose to play. No major problems. Gas hot air furnace is old, noisy and inefficient. Haven't experienced any real cold weather yet, but when Comcast came to run a cable through the attic I got a glimpse of the insulation, or lack of it. That would be a cheap fix for the Landlord, but again you pay the heating (and the electric) bill. They pay garbage, water and sewer. There is no bus stop. (10 minute walk to closest one).

All in all it's not bad as a temporary, get to know the area place to live. Convenient to shopping and the turnpike and Rt 83 and Rt 81. Bus ride to downtown is about 30 minutes. I should probably add that I can look at this from both sides as in addition to being a tenant I am also a landlord (20 years)

Hope this helps someone out.
