It's OK for now

My two-bedroom apartment was clean on move-in day, and everything worked fine. It is a bit outdated as far as interior services and appliances. Most notable is the telephone connection in the kitchen. There is no easy access to an electrical outlet from the phone plate, and this service would seem mandatory with the types of phones sold today.
The outlets are plentiful, although the single bathroom outlet is not LIVE, so forget charging any kind of shaver or such and it is not a GFI plug. This should be mandatory even if it means the management retro all the apartments. Same for the kitchen near sink.
The carpeting is OK but definitely has seen better days, and I can only agree with other reviewers here regarding the windows.
First of all I simply hate the sliding panel type of windows. They do not serve well at all when coupled with venetian blinds. And they are totally ineffectual when it comes to winter winds.
It is noisy. There must be hardly any insulation in the walls and sound carries through the stairway well. The heat ducts should be near or on the floor not the walls near the ceiling.
Parking can be suspect, especially if more than two cars per unit are allowed. I wish there was at least one assigned parking space per apartment. And some of the residents tend to speed through the lot.
Overall the staff have been friendly and service when needed has been prompt and complete. Good natured maintenance guys too.
It isn't the greatest place for sure, but for the money and the time I plan spending here (1-2 years) it's OK. I would recommend Twin Lakes to those not needing luxury or the most modern of living quarters.
