we need to complain to the health department!!! this place sucks!!! i would not recommend it to anyone. i get brown water too. the property manager is --------------- that lies to you until you sign the lease and then you never hear from her again until she keeps your security deposit!!

You should never EXPECT to have a security deposit returned to you. I've lived at Village Knoll for three years, my carpet will probably need replaced after I leave. I am a renter, I am paying for their space. If they need to make repairs to their property due to my renting it, so be it. Thats what the deposit is for. I highly doubt anyone is out to get your money at the office. Their attempting to maintain their property for the owner, they don't have a vendetta. The office staff doesn't own village knoll. Don't kill the messenger.

Of course you should expect to get your security deposit back! It's money you give to the landlord to ensure that you don't DAMAGE the premises. You are living there, so it's unreasonable to expect there isn't going to be some normal wear and tear. Normal wear and tear is not the extent of damage security deposits are meant to protect against. It is not the tenant's responsibility to pay for the repairs a landlord has to make after they move out if it's from normal wear and tear. Duh.
