I just moved out of Laurel Ridge to a new complex, BECAUSE of the new management. When I told them i was moving they said... and i quote "Well, we're more expensive for our size because we're an upscale property." The improvements that are constantly taking place, are because the ones they start are never finished. Almost a year ago the started laying down concrete curbs at parking spaces. They put down 10, and then STOPPED. It took them a week to paint the inside hallway of my building. We repeatedly had bug problems due to all of the non maintained brush and trees in back of our building. The snow removal is postively UNACCEPTABLE. The Valentine's Day storm, the clean up was a DISASTER. They didn't salt or shovel most of the walkways, and did a very poor job clearing the lots, so when everything would melt a little and then refreeze it was a giant ice rink, that they did nothing about. There are tenants there that leave EMPTY 40oz. bottles of Malt Liquor lay IN THEIR YARDS!! The windows were drafty, the screen doors were drafty. The appliances were old as were the cabinets. Our refridgerator went out, and they replaced it with another refridgerator... FROM A VACANT APARTMENT, without telling me they were going to do that... and I ended up throwing out $50-$60 worth of food that i didn't think would keep until, what i was expecting to be a NEW fridge was to temperature. All of this happened when the NEW MANAGEMENT took over. NOW about the apartments themselves. The walls, are unbelievably thin. I could hear my neighbor slide his shower curtain across the curtain rod, not just when i was in my bathroom, but even when i was in the living room... with the TV on. As I said before it's very drafty, the Heat/AC system, at least in my apartment was the old style Thermostats from the 70's where you slide the little lever to what temperature you want... yeah, it was never right. 70 degrees to the A/C, meant something completely different when it came to 70 degrees for the heat. All in all, Laurel Ridge is a horrible community, especially given the price for the apartments. 650 for a one bedroom, 775 for a 2 bedroom. But... they're an "Upscale Complex" so that's ok...

Thank you so very much, you probably saved me from that hell. Someone at my work place suggested them for an unknown reason. everything you mentioned is stuff that's very very important to me & is the kind of stuff you just don't know until you're there, certainly stuff you wouldn't even think to be a problem in an 'upscale complex'. I hope things have worked out for the best for you.
