Terrible neighbors, terrible staff, terrible experience

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003
I moved into this apartment without looking at it first... BIG MISTAKE!!! When my fiance and I first moved in, we weren't informed that we had to carpet our OWN floors out of our OWN pocket (it states "lovely hardwood floors" in the ad. HAH!). We then had the police called on us by our "friendly" neighbors because our CATS were scurrying around at night. We were then (according to the people at Morgan Properties) "reinformed" of the carpet code. The summers inside there are completely horrendous, unless you buy air conditioners for ALL WINDOWS of your apartment. Expect on-the-spot visits from the property manager, and her incessant torture for you to "get along" with the elderly neighbors who will hate you from day one. Whenever you try to contact the office, expect a wait... I assume the property manager is in there with her ditzy conversations with her friends. You'll probably have a better chance of fixing something by winging it than ever getting the maintenance staff to do it right. Also, the maintenance staff are for the most part rude, except for one, who actually conversates and listens to the problems... but then again, there are ONLY TWO OF THEM! In the winter, don't put away your fans if you live in the second floor... the heat is INSANE and you have absolutely NO CONTROL over it... I suggest reversible window fans, they help immensely. Also, whenever you try to bring up a complaint against an older resident, Alison, that flighty girl she is, will tell you that since the older people have seniority living there, your complaints mean NOTHING. Don't worry though, I'm sure those old people will slap you with a few rude and pointless complaints of their own. Forget parking, better get a bike! Keep in mind to follow the Wedgewood trend and shovel one space in winter, then put a lawn chair in it. BUT NEVER MOVE SOMEONE ELSES LAWN CHAIR OR PARK IN "THEIR" SPOTS! An angry man will come banging on your door asking you why you took "HIS" spot. Insane. The stairs going down into the basement are TERRIBLE and they RARELY use salt on them in the winter. Better bring a flashlight, too, or you'll never see your way. Oh, and I know of many local kids who enjoy breaking into the basements for their own amusement, better bring a weapon, too. You don't need to bring along any pets with you, Wedgewood offers a large assortment of mice, squirrels, bees, ants, you name the pest, it's there. Keep in mind to consolidate your wardrobe before moving in... closet space is a minimum (that is when the doors aren't broken and you can actually get inside your closet). As for mail delivery, cancel your subscription to Playboy... it'll get torn up in those little egg-carton sized mailboxes. So, all in all... if you like old ladies screaming at you to get their mail for them as you walk past, this complex is for you. Also, be careful of your dealings with the property manager... if she deems you "rude" or anything else, she'll give you a bad recommendation for your next place (no matter HOW good you kept that place and no matter HOW many complaints you had, even if it was zero). In my opinion, don't move here. If I could've broken my lease early, I would have. The flowers and the benches only hide the ugliness of the TRUE Wedgewood Hills complex.
