the apartments at whisperwood are heated by gas, my furnace was continuously going out every other day, i constantly complained and asked them, pleaded with them to replace the ancient furnace and all they did was to keep relighting it instead of replacing it. my family kept headaches and being nauseated due to constantly inhaling gas fumes, we are just grateful that we survived our year there without blowing up. they allow maintenance in your apartment more then you are, they were always in and out for some minute reason or another, no privacy whatsoever. i paid my rent on time faithfully, kept my apartment up, but when i moved they tried to take every penny of my security deposit, first of all the whole security deposit bit was unfair, because you had some tennants that did not have to pay a security deposit, so therefore they did not have to do the expensive, rigourous cleaning that we security deposit paying tennants had to endure, just to get our own money back, they had nothing to loose, when it was time for them to move, that was all they had to do, pack up and just move out. when it was time for me to move out i was handed this three page letter demanding me of what they wanted done to their apartment in order to receive my security deposit (i had to have the carpets professionally cleaned which cost me over a hundred and fifty dollars, and had to give them a copy of the receipt, after i paid my hard earned money to have the carpet professionally cleaned, they then replaced the carpet which they said they should have done before i moved in, because i had informed them of the many spots and burn marks on the carpet before i moved in)it was so many things i had to do, that i can guarantee you, were not done before i moved in, i suggest that you ask them for a copy of the move out expectations, before you move in, then you know what to look for to be sure it is done.
they kept a portion of my security deposit for every little thing that they could think of, things that i can assure you was none of my doings, but because i did not know what to look for when i moved in, i was held responsible for it when i moved out. they charged me for painting the walls, correct me if i'm wrong but i thought that was usual preparation for renting it to the next person i don't think that should be the tennant's responsibility, unless there was unusual wear and tear on the walls, which i can assure you there wasn't in my case. i won't even go into the major problem i had with my door key. as you can tell i was not pleased at all with this apartment complex. it was and probably still is infested with roaches. please if you have any pride in yourself DO NOT RENT AN APARTMENT FROM "THE APARTMENT STORE, PARTICULARLY AT WHISPERWOOD". it was my first and worst apartment living experience.
