I enjoyed my three years at Williamsburg Estates. I've read other people's complaints about the parking, and while it's unusual to find parking right in front of one's door, I never found the short walk from my car to my door to be all that onerous.

It's not a surprise to me that Williamsburg Estates is ranked number in the Harrisburg area on this site. It's one of the reasons I rented there in the first place, and after having lived there three years I can say that they probably deserve that ranking.

The construction is around thirty years old (from what I was told). The windows leak somewhat, and the heat/AC is very loud. The AC in my apartment was inefficient (i.e., $150/month electric bills all summer), but I was told before I moved out that they were planning to upgrade their AC units over the next couple years. Ask about that if you visit there.

The walls are not very sound-resistant. If you have a noisy neighbor, you will hear them. I would say that's a knock against Williamsburg Estates except that I've lived in enough apartment complexes and townhomes to believe that this isn't unusual when you share a wall with someone else. If noise is a real issue for you, ask if you can be placed in an apartment that's less likely to have noisy neighbors.

The office and maintenance staff at Williamsburg Estates are very good. I never had a maintenance issue that wasn't promptly fixed.

Also, I didn't have any hassle when I moved out. I had put three years worth of wear-and-tear on that apartment, yet my security deposit was cheerfully refunded. I left the place clean, but I wasn't charged for worn carpet or every small scratch or nail-hole in a wall. That's how it should be, in my opinion, but a couple places I have lived have been much less friendly towards their former tenants.

I moved out because I got married and inherited a family, and two bedrooms and one bathroom just wasn't enough for all of us. Otherwise, I'd still be happily living at Williamsburg Estates. I recommend that anyone looking for an apartment in the Harrisburg area give it a look.
