Experienced Advice; KEEP AWAY

I lived at Village Green for nearly 4 years. The only nice thing I have to say is the maintenance staff are hard working, nice people. The office staff are rude and gruff. The lease is designed so no matter how you move from here, they gouge you for the remainder of time on lease, or they nail you with a "lease termination fee" which is more than a month's rent (and only if you give them more than 60 days notice in writing the exact way they request). The leases go yearly and renew automatically every year. You must give a minimum 60 days notice even prior to your lease termination date. It does not matter how long you have been here, and despite the fact you have never missed a payment, or caused a single problem. Let's not forget the fact it floods every time it rains hard. The fires here have also been a real blast (literally). And I am in a "public safety" position and have had the pleasure of not only being evacuated and/or inconvenienced numerous times by disaster, I have assisted with evacuations and fatal incidents here even before tending to my own family and needs. Reward; They have raised the rent every year no matter what disasters have occurred. If you visit, do not come during even a moderate rain event. And certainly do not park from the pool towards the entrance/exit. Follow the crowd who will be figting for parking spaces in the upper 3 lots that do not flood. Or park on a neighboring side street like I had to do numerous times and walk in the rain to get to your apartment. Either way, if you are single and like adventure, then maybe floods, fire, and Village Green is for you. Just keep you renters insurance up to date. Maybe even consider flood insurance on your auto policy.
