I lived in the Luxurious Colonade apartments for a year. We enjoyed such luxuries such as 50's vintage 2-pronged outlets, elevators in grave need of repair, very poor security, break-ins to the neighbors, lack of parking, dangerously, poorly lit parking lots-including on of the oldest parking garages I have ever seen, and slow to non-existent maintainence.
PERHAPS the most dangerous thing about the Colonade is the fact that the FIRE ALARM does not even go off on the upper floors of the manor building if it is going off on the lower floors. THAT IS SCARY and illegal. Does the Colonade care' Nope. Also, when the alarm does go off, it is so quiet, it cannot even be heard through the apartment front door even though the alarm was right above our door.
The pool did not even open until July and it will close no matter the weather on Memorial day. The indoor pool is the size of a large bathtub and the work-out place is not open when advertised. If fact, the hours are very spotty and inconvient to folks home during the day.
Snow removal is prompt, however, all snow is plowed directly into the backs of the cars parked in the lot. No wonder people there have to buy snow shovels.
There is not enough parking for everyone, and yet the money-gorging management actually RENTS prime parking places to the energy company to park several vehicles.
After the first year, the management (if you can call it that) had the nerve to raise rent on a one bedroom apartment by $50/month. They should drop it by $100 for the poor service and the utter disappointment of living there.
Also, the smell of Sushi and dead fish in the manor building adds a nice touch.
Welcome to Philly, enjoy living SOMEWHERE else.
