The complex experiences many of the negatives found in large apt complexes run by large corporations.
We lived there for 3 years and since we tend to be fairly low-maintenance people, we had few problems.
The only major issue was an ongoing dampness and mold problem. Their attempts to fix it were half-assed at best. Since most of the mold was in the bedroom closets, we had to throw out several expensive pairs of footwear as well as some leather and wool coats and suits. What we could salvage cost us over $300 in dry cleaning. We also had to do the cleaning of both huge closets and do the repainting ourselves. Though they did provide the paint. The office refused reimbursement for anything and instead gave us a dozen free laundry tokens. After that, they placed a dehumidifier in the bedroom which had to run constantly... not great for sleeping since it was quite noisy.
They require 90 days notice when you vacate. When my husband was transferred to DE, we gave them 90 days notice, we were out in one month but paid them for 2 1/2 months. I felt this fair when calculating our mold losses, not to mention our labor. I detailed this in our written notice to vacate. We received a check for $340 about 3 months later (we paid $750 deposit when we moved in).
One of the nice points... the grounds are right next to a hiking trail that leads into the Valley Forge National Park.
All-in-all... it's merely an okay place to live. It served our purposes at the time for the most part. However, don't expect too much.
