I have lived in both a two-bedroom apartment and a two-bedroom townhouse and the experience couldn't have been more different with regard to noise/etc. The walls seems to be thick, but the floors are VERY thin.
In the apartment I felt like whoever happened to be living in the apartment below was practically a roommate because I could hear everything...and I do mean EVERYTHING! Whole conversations, including phone conversations, TVs, radios, people leaving my neighbor messages on their answering machine, barking dogs, SNORING (I spent many a night unsuccessfully trying to fall asleep to my downstairs neighbor snoring like a buzzsaw...the neighbor before that used to wake me up with her screams from nightmares (in addition to snoring)...and the one before that used to go on hours long crying jags in the the middle of the night). Whenever the downstairs neighbor turned on the exhaust fan in the bathroom, it sounded like a helicoper landing in my bedroom.
In addition to the noise, my apartment often smelled like an ashtray because the downstairs neightbor smoked, which made me sick to my stomach and was the main factor in moving to another unit. On more than one occassion I had someone ask if I smoked because my clothes reeked of cigarette smoke just from hanging in my closet.
In contrast, I rarely, if ever, hear anything next door now that I live in a two-bedroom townhouse. I have yet to smell cigarette smoke from my next door neighbor either.
I agree with the person who had negative comments about the office staff. They aren't always helpful and I've had trouble having my messages passed on to the maintenance staff (who seem to do a great job).

I'm looking at renting at Bentley.. could you tell me if the thin-walled apartments were the newer or the older apartments?
