If your thinking about moving to Colebrook PLEASE reconsider. My fiancee and I lived there for about 9 months. The first 7 1/2 months was great except for all the complaints from the old ladies next door about how they hear "loud music" at 12 o'clock in the afternoon. This was very untrue because when the office called to complain there wasn't even any music playing. Is there a noise ordinance at that time of day anyways' We also had an issue where a vacant apartment above us had a pipe burst. All the water leaked to the apartment below the vacant one and then entered its way into ours. There was about an inch of water covering my whole kitchen, out through the dining room, and back the hallway. I have an eight month year old daughter who loves to be on the floor, but couldn't because of this incident. After calling the office and waiting about an hour for the maintenance to arrive, he entered our apartment and only took about 5 steps, looked at all the water, and went to his truck and did not return for yet another hour. He did not even inform me of where the water was coming from or how it had occured. Finally, two maintenance men came back and informed me that they were sending out men to fix this problem. Two vans arrived a half-an-hour later with an industrial fan and a huge humidifier. They used a vacuum to suck the water up and left the fan and humidifier here. I was told to leave it run all night and that the carpet would be dry in the morning. They were to return around 11 am. to remove the equipment. I was very upset because the industrial fan was very loud and could be heard in every room of my apartment. My daughter and I could not sleep so I had to wake up my mother to come pick up my daughter. My fiancee works second shift and enjoys coming home to spend time with her. He was very disappointed to find out she was not here when he came home. Morning arrived and I waited patiently for the maintenance men to arrive. Ofcourse they were not here when the claimed to be. My mother had to call off work to watch the baby for us. Arriving at around 1 o'clock I was informed that I had to leave the machine on until tomorrow night!! The carpet was still soaking wet. I was very concerned because the plywood that was underneath the carpet was wet as well. I did not want mold growing because it could be harmful to my daughter. The maintenance men did not even attempt to replace the plywood until my fiancee spoke with one of them about this issue. The whole process took about 3 1/2 days to complete. The job was done very poorly and incorrectly. When my fiancee called the office to complain Kathy was very rude, which isn't uncommon. She is known for her rudeness, unkindness, and stubborness throughout the Colebrook community.
