We lived at Hershey Heritage for 8 months. When we moved in, we told Karen(the manager) that we might possibly have to break our lease early due to going back to graduate school. It was December and I had just filed my apps, so I wasn't sure if I was getting in. I assured her that I would know in April and wouldn't leave until August, so that gave her 4months to find somebody to take over the lease and we wouldn't have to pay termination fees. Well, it happened that I was accepted(late April) and planned to move out mid August(4months notice). I told them of our intent, they agreed to find somebody, but, strangely, every time they thought they had somebody, darn it, at the last second they backed out! You mean to tell me in 4months, you can't find someone to take a 1 bedroom apartment' If this complex is SOOOOOO popular, what the hell is the problem' Even stranger, after we moved out, a fellow friend in the next building told us there was a name on our old mailbox that wasn't ours. Hershey Heritage blew it off as the name of someone who was supposed to move in, but didn't. They were just trying to pull the wool over our eyes again, b/c they give each renter the label to put on their mailbox when they move in.
So, in the end they took advantage of someone in a tight financial situation with school and tried to squeeze every last cent out of them. This could have just as easily been the case of a military soldier awaiting deployment. Be prepared, they don't care about you, they just want their money!

me again..what loss would it be if they rented to you or someone else, none, they would get the rent regardless.
