I've been living in HHV now for 5 years. Some possitive points are that the apartments are huge. The office and maintanance staff are very courtious. Most of the times they fix things right away after you call. Some times you have to remind them a couple of times. My neighbors are for the most part quiet and keep to themselves, however I do here my neighbors washer and my other neighbor sneeze. I feel safe knowing people can't just walk into my apartment lobby. All doors are constantly security locked with an intercom system.
Now for the negative...Every year my rent has gone up, and not just $5 or $10 dollars. I'm talking over $100. over 5 years. And you have to pay the difference to have your security deposit match your rent. After your year lease is up, you don't get a month-to-month lease, you get another year lease. And from what I read if I break that lease, no matter why, I lose my security deposit. My car has been broken into twice, security is hardly ever seen in the complex. I hate moving so every year when my rent increases, I look for another apartment but I stay because I like the size of the apartment and I HATE MOVING!!!!

We appreciate your comments; however, we would like to clarify a few points. Our records indicate that you moved-in in 2006 and have recently started your fourth year with us. While you accurately report that you have had an increase each year, your actual total increase since moving-in is less than $75.00, not over $100.00, as reported. The matching security increase is considered to be an industry standard and stops at the conclusion of your 5th full year as required by law. At this time, we only offer month-to-month rentals on our furnished corporate suites. This policy facilitates rental stability, making it easier to budget for and provide services to our tenants. However, all residents are offered an opportunity to attach a variety of addendums that either reduce the notice required to prematurely terminate a lease, or reduce/eliminate the penalty for doing so, or both. There is no charge for adding any of these to a lease renewal. As far as vehicles being broken into, unfortunately this is a nuisance crime that occurs everywhere from time to time. Such occurrences are statistically lower within HHV than in Lancaster Township as a whole. Further, we have tried to prevent all types of crimes as much as possible with design features and by employing a security staff. This is truly a police issue, and if you are not happy with police coverage, we would recommend that you file a complaint with Lancaster Township or Lancaster Bureau of Police. As to our security personnel, they never work the same hours, nor do they always use the security vehicle. Hours and vehicles are varied so that there is no predictable pattern to their patrols. You may not see them, but they are there. Also, they are on call 24/365 if you have an urgent problem or get locked out of your apartment. Our staff also routinely assists Police, Fire and Emergency Medical personnel responding to emergencies within the community. The level of security service provided by HHV is far beyond that of most apartment communities. Lastly, if you have a specific concern, or are so unhappy about something that you consider leaving every year, please call the office and set up an appointment with the property manager to discuss any issues that you may have. We welcome all suggestions and strive to keep our residents happy. Thank you again for your positive comments and we look foward to meeting with you.

You know, your 'clarifing' sounds like a defense. If you add the cost of the rent that goes up every year PLUS the money that poor person has to put with the security deposit, that's OVER a $100. They person was giving their opinion of the place and your judging him/her for that.
