I lived in a 1 bedroom with a roommate while we were in college. When we first moved in, we were told our carpet would not be replaced because they only replace them every 7 years (and the tenant before us was a heavy smoker, and there was a six foot neon pink stain in the middle of the living room carpet). The kitchen and bathroom had been remodeled and wasn't terrible, however, the bathroom did start growing mold. Maintenance always seemed to fix our problems when we asked them to. There was definitely a bug problem and we had to get maintenance to come in and get them out of our infested bedroom and bathroom windows. We never felt safe. The front door was barely held in place by a deadbolt. We could always here our neighbor playing loud music at all hours of the night. We frequently were awaken in the middle of the night to police officers who were trying to take care of noise complaints and domestic violence disputes. Our neighbor (who was thankfully evicted) fired his shotgun 5 feet from our sliding glass door on morning. The place was frequented by police for gunshots. It was not a safe place to live and my parents were trilled when my roommate and I moved out. Please don't rent here if you don't have too.
